DirecTV Releases Executive Salaries, Bonuses

DirecTV Group Inc., the largest U.S. satellite-television operator, disclosed thje salaries of its executive officers for 2005 and their cash bonuses for 2004, including those of Chief Executive Officer Chase Carey, who will be paid $2.08 million this year with a $3.5 million bonus for 2004.


Mitchell Stern, chief executive of DirecTV’s U.S. unit, will be paid $2.08 million in salary and $2 million in bonus, El Segundo-based DirecTV said in a statement filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.


Nearly breaking the $1 million mark was Bruce Churchill, executive vice president and chief financial officer, who will be paid $987,000, with a $950,000 cash bonus for 2004.


Patrick Doyle, senior vice president, treasurer and controller, will make $395,000 in 2005, with a $225,000 cash bonus for last year.


The payments were approved by the board’s compensation committee on Feb. 8.


Carey and Stern weren’t granted new restricted stock units for this year, DirecTV’s filing said.


Shares of DirecTV fell 0.9 percent to $15.20 in late-morning trading Tuesday.
