agreed to buy the remaining shares of its Irish commercial affiliate, CB Richard Ellis Gunne, for $24.6 million in an effort to benefit from the rapidly growing real estate market in Ireland. The L.A.-based firm already owns 10 percent of the Dublin-based firm, which employs 105 people and also has offices in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The commercial operations will operate as CB Richard Ellis, and Pat Gunne will continue as managing director of the Irish operations. CB Richard Ellis will not acquire the affiliate’s residential operations.


& #8226; Northrop Grumman Corp.

was awarded a 5-year, $208 million contract to provide operations, maintenance and engineering support at training ranges for the U.S. Navy. Under the deal, Northrop will provide support at Navy and Marine Corps East and West Coast training ranges, contracts that were previously procured separately.


The L.A.-based company will provide a staff of engineers and technicians for operations, maintenance and engineering support of the tactical aircrew combat-training system, and will support electronic warfare processes used in training Navy, Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army personnel. Northrop expects to hire about 180 workers to support the contract, mostly in Fallon, Nev., and Yuma, Ariz.
