Nadel Architects Inc. named Brent Bland associate vice president of its retail division. Bland also continues as retail project manager. Sassan Abdolazimi and Adham Refaat were named as associates in the Los Angeles retail division; they also continue in their roles as project managers.

BDO Seidman LLP, a firm specializing in tax, assurance and financial advisory services, promoted Anthony Ferguson to audit partner in its Los Angeles office. He was formerly a senior manager at the firm.


Banking & Finance
American Business Bank in Los Angeles named Eric Shapiro vice president and senior relationship manager. He was previously vice president at Manufacturers Bank in Los Angeles.


CEO America Inc. named Jonathan Montgomery as an executive vice president. Montgomery was formerly a financial adviser with Merrill Lynch in Daytona Beach, Fla.


Construction
Parsons Corp., a Pasadena-based construction and engineering company, named Charles A. Hansen vice president in its systems, defense and security division. Hansen was the assistant manager in the Department of Energy's waste disposition project at the Savannah River site. Parsons Construction Group Inc., a Parsons unit, named Thomas A. Donovan senior vice president and director of operations. He formerly served as vice president of construction and remediation of Parsons Corp.


Education
The board of Los Angeles Community College named Dr. Steve Maradian president of Los Angeles City College. Maradian is vice president for government relations at the American University of Armenia.


Entertainment
Music production company MusicBox in Calabasas appointed Danielle Lindy director of client services. She was previously a freelance music consultant and producer with Finger Music in Los Angeles.


The Tennis Channel, based in Santa Monica, promoted Mike Kim to account director. He was previously account manager.


Ascent Media Creative Services Group in Santa Monica promoted Barbara Marshall to managing director of its Encore Hollywood post-production facility. Marshall was previously director of Encore Visual Effects in Hollywood. Tim Jacobsen has been chosen to fill Marshall's former position at Encore Visual Effects. Jacobsen was previously a visual effects producer at Encore Hollywood. Barry Goldscher has been promoted to director of operations at Encore Hollywood after serving as technical operations supervisor previously.


Government
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed Dr. Sharon O'Connor of Encino to the California Board of Psychology. O'Connor has been a psychologist with a private practice for 17 years at the Cedar-Sinai Medical Towers and in Beverly Hills. The governor also named Thomas Erb of Studio City an alternate member of the Colorado River Board of California. He is the director of water resources for the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power.


Hospitality
Pacific Palms Resort in Industry Hills named Brad Buss as executive chef. He was most recently an executive chef at Loews Annapolis Hotel in Maryland.


Law
Skousen & Skousen in Los Angeles hired Brian Cullen as an associate. Cullen was formerly the deputy city attorney for Hesperia.


Greenberg Glusker in Los Angeles hired Silvia Saucedo as an associate in the firm's real estate and land use practice. Saucedo was previously representing private clients.


Media
The Southern California Broadcasters Association has appointed Pat Duffy as chairman. Duffy is vice president and market manager of news at Infinity Broadcasting.


International Sports and Media Group, a sports and news marketing communications firm based in Los Angeles, named Manolo Cevallos president. Cevallos will continue to hold the concessions for the El Salvadorian Soccer Federation. Yan Skwara, the former president of International Sports and Media, becomes chairman.


Non-Profit
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has named Richard C. Baptie and Lindy DeKoven to the board of its Greater Los Angeles chapter. Baptie is vice president in the Southern California office of Hathaway Dinwiddie Construction Co. DeKoven is president of DeKoven Entertainment, a Los Angeles film and television production company associated with Paramount Television.


Public Relations
Rogers & Cowan, a Los Angeles-based public relations firm, promoted Heather Krug to vice president. She was previously associate vice president.


RAP Communications Inc., an advertising, marketing and public relations firm in Culver City, hired Eric Bables as account executive and Alison Hutchins assistant account executive. Bables was formerly an account executive at the Los Angeles Times. Hutchins is a recent graduate of Mount St. Mary's College.


Real Estate
Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Brokerage Co., based in Encino, promoted Alexander Garcia to vice president of investments. Garcia was a senior investment associate at the company.


The Los Angeles office of Marcus & Millichap Capital Corp. appointed Brian Ursino as a loan officer. He was previously a mortgage intern and loan analyst at the company.


Wescom Credit Union in Pasadena hired Christopher D. Goode as vice president of real estate lending. Goode most recently worked as a consultant to the mortgage banking industry.


Staffing
Amy Zimmerman & Associates Inc. hired Darlene Rigo and Raul Magtalas as temporary staffing coordinators. Rigo previously worked as a realtor's assistant at First Team Realty in Huntington Beach. Magtalas previously worked as a temporary coordinator at Remedy Temps in Torrance.


Storage
Beverly Hills Transfer and Storage hired Ed Gildersleeve as director of its Commercial Division. Gildersleeve previously held the same position at Gemini Moving and Storage in Glendale.


Technology
Radlink Inc., a Torrance-based medical image systems company, named Thomas T. Hacking as chairman and chief executive and Glenn Crosse as vice chairman of technology. Hacking is also chief executive of Hacking and Co., an investment and merchant banking firm he founded. Crosse was previously vice president of technology for Radlink.
