Factories Gain Momentum in July

U.S. manufacturing grew more quickly in July with a rise in new orders and a decrease in prices paid, according to a survey published on Friday.


The Institute for Supply Management said its index of national factory activity rose to 56.6 in July from 53.8 in June, above economist forecasts for a slight uptick to 54.5.
