Oil Prices Fall Below $51 a Barrel

Crude futures fell Friday, dipping below the $51 mark, ahead of a meeting where the Group of Seven industrial nations were to discuss the economic impact of soaring energy prices.


Light, sweet crude for May delivery fell 93 cents to $50.20 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Heating oil fell more than a cent to $1.4677 per gallon while unleaded gas also dropped more than a cent to $1.4890 a gallon. In London, Brent crude for June fell 77 cents to $51.52 a barrel on the International Petroleum Exchange.
