Meg Linton has been named director of exhibitions and public programs for the Otis College of Art and Design. Linton previously served as executive director of the Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum.



John B. Emerson, president of personal investment management for Capital Guardian Trust Co., was named chairman and chief executive officer of the Music Center. He replaces Andrea Van de Kamp, who becomes chairman emeritus.

Banking

Bank of the West has promoted Judy Ting to senior vice president and regional manger in its Pacific Rim Banking Division. Ting joined the bank in 1996 as vice president and regional sales manager.

Consulting

Mullin Consulting Inc. promoted William Gardiner to vice president at the firm's Los Angeles office. Gardiner was formerly a senior managing associate at the firm.



Education

Video Symphony, a TV, film and DVD education center, has named Jon Tronowsky director of student services. Tronowsky will be responsible for the course services department.

The University of Southern California's School of Cinema-Television has appointed Michael Taylor chair of the production division. Among his credits in a 25-year television and film career is the 1996 film "Phenomenon."

Health Care

Gateways Hospital and Mental Health Center has appointed Michael J. Saltz, a partner with the law firm Enenstein Russell & Saltz LLP, to its board of directors.

Law

Marci. L Barrett was elected president of the Insurance Women of Los Angeles. Barrett is currently an associate with Richardson & Harman, LLP.



Colleen Calkins and Todd Reinstein have joined Valensi Rose & Magaram. Calkins specializes in estate planning and tax law. Reinstein is a specialist in taxation law as professor emeritus at California State University, Northridge.

Manufacturing

Rotonix Manufacturing Inc. has named Sherman McKinnis interim president and chief executive, replacing Robert E. Gawlik. McKinnis had held the posts between 1991 and 2001.



Dacor, a kitchen appliance design, manufacturing and distribution company, has promoted Larry Lamkins to assistant vice president of marketing. Lamkins had been marketing and product support director.

Marketing

Sean T. Haley was elected president of the Southern California chapter of the America Marketing Association. Haley is president of marketing communications at Zyrex Inc.



Deutsch Inc. has promoted Tristan McManaman senior vice president and group media director. McManaman has been with Deutsch for the past six years.



Kovel/Fuller has hired Julie Foster as associate media director. Foster's agency experience includes six years with David and Goliath, Deutsch, Saatchi & Saatchi and Ketchum Advertising.



Media

A & E; network has named Mark Cutler designer-in-residence for the design show "Makeover Mamas." Cutler is president of Mark Cutler Design Inc.



Bill Lischak has been named president of First Look Media. Lischak, who joined the company in 1988, is the company's chief financial officer and chief operating officer. He assumes responsibility for the home entertainment, international sales, finance and theatrical distribution operating units.



Craig Rossi has been promoted to station manager at Clear Channel/LA for radio stations KBIG-FM (104) and KOST-FM (103.5). Rossi had been director of sales for both stations. Michael Jackel, previously general sales manager, has become director of sales.



Non-Profit

Rosa Linda Cruz, a litigator and shareholder at Parker Milliken Clark O'Hara & Samuelian, has been named president of the board of the Variety Boys' and Girls' Club in Boyle Heights.



Real Estate

John D. Menne has been named chairman of the Urban Land Institute Los Angeles. Menne is director and regional manager for MetLife Real Estate Investments.



William J. DuBrowa and Allen Afshar have been named senior vice presidents in Colliers International's Southern California investment services group. DuBrowa was senior vice president at Grubb & Ellis Co. and Afshar was vice president.



Research

Specialty Laboratories Inc. has appointed Cynthia K. French vice president and chief science officer. French will oversee the company's research and development program.



Temporary Services

On Assignment Inc., a provider of temporary workers to the science and health care industries, has appointed Teresa Hopp to its board of directors. Hopp was formerly chief financial officer of Western Digital Corp.
