Michael Shirer has been named vice president of technology at Golin/Harris, a public relations firm in Los Angeles. He will oversee the technology division and provide strategic counsel to clients. Shirer was most recently public relations manager at Forrester Research. Also, Lisa Ruben was named vice president of consumer marketing. She will be responsible for setting client strategies, managing account operations, and providing senior counsel to clients. Ruben was previously managing director at Hill and Knowlton Inc.

Banking & Finance

Daniel McNamee has been named chief operating officer for U.S. operations at the Los Angeles office of Senetas Corp. Ltd., a venture capital and incubator company. He will be responsible for liaisons with all holdings and for relationships with others in the U.S. financial community. McNamee was previously general counsel for JNCO clothing and entertainment companies.

Construction

Bryan Binyon has been named vice president and treasurer at Kaufman & Broad Home Corp. in Los Angeles. He will manage capitalization and funding. Binyon was most recently a vice president at American General Finance.

Engineering

Denise C. Coleman has been named vice president of business development at Haley & Aldrich Inc., an underground engineering and environmental consulting firm in Los Angeles. She will be responsible for developing national industrial environmental services and supporting business growth. Coleman was previously the owner of a marketing consulting practice.

Entertainment

Jeff Blue has been named vice president of artists and repertoire at Warner Bros. Records Inc. in Burbank. He will oversee discovery and development of new talent. Blue was previously vice president of creative development and A & R; at Zomba Publishing.

Stephanie A. Caprielian has been promoted to vice president of labor relations at Universal Studios in Universal City. She will oversee operation of the labor relations department and manage contract compliance, disciplinary action, grievance resolution, and industry contract negotiations. Caprielian was previously executive director of labor relations.

James R. Ewing was appointed senior vice president of finance at Catch 23 Entertainment, a Los Angeles-based film production company. He will manage all financial, administrative and accounting activities. Ewing was formerly controller and treasurer at Largo Entertainment.

Thomas Tyrer has been named senior vice president of corporate communications at Fox Cable Networks Group and Fox Television Studios in Los Angeles. He will be responsible for identifying, coordinating and executing all strategic business communications and initiatives. Tyrer was previously vice president of corporate communications at Fox Broadcasting Co. Also, Jola Harris was promoted to vice president of affiliate marketing for entertainment. Harris was most recently senior manager of affiliate marketing at Discovery Communications Inc.

Laurie Younger has been promoted to executive vice president and chief financial officer at ABC Inc. She will oversee Buena Vista Productions, Buena Vista Television, Disney's pay television, pay-per-view, cable and broadcast syndication operations, and the international television business. Younger was previously senior vice president and chief financial officer.

High Tech

David Palmore has been appointed president and chief operating officer at Day Corp., an international technology company. He will be based in Los Angeles and will oversee U.S. operations. Palmore was most recently vice president of business development and channel marketing at VerticalNet Inc. Also, Steve Cardona has been named vice president of business development and strategic alliances at the Los Angeles office. He will be responsible for identifying and developing relationships with partners. Cardona was previously vice president of channel sales at IPNet Solutions Inc. In addition, Miles Mahoney was named vice president of sales. He will oversee the development and expansion of sales and client services in North and South America. Mahoney was formerly vice president of worldwide sales at IPNet Solutions Inc.

Hospitality

Yves Bainier has been named executive chef at the Loews Santa Monica Hotel. He will oversee all culinary operations and menu development. Bainier was previously executive chef at the Ritz Carlton Double Bay in Sydney, Australia.

Law

Robert P. Peterson has been appointed vice president of engineering at The Legal Knowledge Co., a provider of legal information and services in Los Angeles. He will oversee development of knowledge management products. Peterson was most recently vice president of technology at Carsdirect.com.

New Media

John Matteson has been named vice president of technology at Massive Media Group Inc., a provider of digital rights management solutions for the entertainment business community in Santa Monica. Also, Mark Schramm was named vice president of consumer products, and Craig German was appointed vice president of content management. Previously, Matteson, Schramm and German were consultants at Universal Music Group.

Robert C. Murray has been named vice president and general counsel at Affinity Internet Co., a Web hosting and application service provider in Los Angeles. He will oversee mergers and acquisitions, financial transactions, partnerships and general corporate matters. Murray was most recently vice president, general counsel and secretary at Newstar Media Inc.

Jacob J. Stettin has been named senior vice president and general counsel at YellowOnline.com, an online business directory in Los Angeles. He will advise senior management, assist with international relationships and provide counsel as to financial structures. Stettin was most recently senior vice president and general counsel at En Pointe Technologies Inc.

John Terenzio has been named president of Broadband Services, an online sports media company in Los Angeles. He will be responsible for creating, developing and supervising all audio/visual programming. Terenzio was most recently executive vice president at Fox Sports Net.

Leo Yu has been named chief information officer at Need2Buy.com, an online marketplace based in Westlake Village that serves the electronic components industry. He will oversee information technology strategies, expansion and partnerships. Yu was previously director of infrastructure at Marshall Industries.

Nonprofits

Suzanne R. Campi has been appointed vice president for financial development at the Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens in San Marino. She will oversee all financial affairs. Campi was previously president of Suzanne Campi and Associates, a consulting firm for corporate, foundation and nonprofit clients in the areas of philanthropy, strategic planning and fund-raising.

Real Estate

John L. Vinnicombe has been named executive vice president and head of the tenant representation group at Jones Lang LaSalle, a real estate services and investment management firm in Los Angeles. He specializes in strategic real estate planning. Vinnicombe was previously treasurer at Kenetech Corp.
