Still waiting: In Samuel Beckett’s classic “Waiting for Godot,” a homeless man suffering existential angst kills time by doing vaudevillian antics and music hall ditties with people around him. Rose is a rose: The rose garden at the Huntington Library and Art Gallery in San Marino will be in full bloom during the annual Rose Festival on April 15 and 16. Also at the Huntington on April 16, photographer Don Normark presents a slide lecture on his new book “Chavez Ravine, 1949: A Los Angeles Story.” Information: (626) 405-2100.

Urban architecture: “At the End of the Century: One Hundred Years of Architecture” examines the history of architectural urbanism in response to social, cultural, intellectual, political and economic factors. From April 16 through Sept. 24 at the Museum of Contemporary Art at the Geffen Contemporary.

Japanese art: “Modern Masters of Kyoto” presents late 19th and early 20th century Japanese painting using traditional media and formats known as Nihonga, which was used by Japanese artists to distinguish themselves from Western-style painting.
