Todd Baker was promoted to vice president at Grizzard, a direct marketing company in Eagle Rock. He will be responsible for devising marketing strategies for commercial and nonprofit clients. Baker was most recently an account supervisor for the firm.
Elizabeth Chanley was appointed director of publicity for Levine Communications in Los Angeles. She will oversee publicity staff, campaign strategy development, and the re-launch of the music division. Chanley was previously with Hayley Sumner Co.
Jasvina Gill was promoted to vice president of client services at the Weston Group, a Los Angeles advertising agency. She will be responsible for overseeing the agency's account executive staff. Gill was previously senior account executive.
Tom Harrison was promoted to executive vice president at Russ Reid Co., a Pasadena-based marketing and communications agency for nonprofit organizations. He will oversee direct day-to-day operations for all divisions. Harrison was previously senior vice president.
Edmund C. Buch was promoted to vice president at Leo A. Daly in Los Angeles. He will manage design/build projects at Cal State Pomona and UC Irvine. Buch was previously a production team manager. Also, Giuseppe Aliano was named senior project designer. He will work with the design director to implement criteria for projects, including the Lennox Public Library and the Public Works District office in Inglewood. Aliano was most recently a senior associate with Kellefer Flammang Purtill Architects in Santa Monica.
Neil M. Kaplanis was appointed senior designer at Johnson Fain Partners in Los Angeles. He will focus on interior design for entertainment, e-commerce and new media companies.
Bob Bannon was appointed chief investment officer at Sanwa Bank California in Los Angeles. He will oversee investment managing for the bank's wealth management division. Bannon was previously managing director for Analytic Investors Inc.
Sean K. Conley was appointed vice president and senior relationship manager at Bank of America in Los Angeles. He will be responsible for marketing and managing business development in the commercial real estate banking group. Conley was most recently vice president at California Federal Bank.
Jeffrey M. Wilson was named managing director of the tax-exempt opportunity fund at Saybrook Capital in Santa Monica. He will co-manage the fund, which will acquire blocks of distressed municipal debt. Wilson was previously vice president of the Franklin Templeton Group of Funds.
David A. French was promoted to senior vice president of Kaufman & Broad Multi-Housing Group in Long Beach. He will continue to oversee all domestic architectural and construction operations. French was previously vice president of operations.
Kenneth Abrams was appointed executive vice president of sales and marketing for Global Icons, a company that licenses use of celebrity images. He will be responsible for launching the new division involving children. Abrams was most recently vice president of consumer products at Marvel Entertainment in New York.
Scott Ackerson was named executive producer of Fox Sports News. He will oversee all aspects of the program and lead the reformatting of the show in preparation for the debut of regional news programs. Ackerson was most recently producer for Fox NFL Sunday.
Chris Carey was promoted to senior vice president of post-production and technical operations for Walt Disney Studios in Burbank. He will oversee all post-production facilities and worldwide DVD and VHS mastering, authoring and quality assurance, as well as providing technical support to inventory services and digital cinema initiatives. Carey was previously vice president of post-production services.
Kenneth L. Kahrs was promoted to executive vice president of human resources at Universal Studios in Universal City. He will oversee all corporate human resources, including benefits and compensation, an expanded diversity program, and human resources information systems. Kahrs was formerly senior vice president of human resources.
Bruce Markoe was promoted to senior vice president of post-production for MGM Pictures and United Artists Pictures in Santa Monica. He will be responsible for all aspects of post-production and will expand use of new technologies, among other things. Markoe was previously vice president of post production.
Neal Poole was promoted to chief financial officer at Weller/Grossman Productions in Los Angeles. He will oversee program budgets and direct new business development while continuing to supervise all financial
operations and negotiations. Poole was previously director of business affairs.
Rick Auerbach was promoted to assessor of Los Angeles County. He will oversee property tax issues for county residents. Auerbach was previously assistant assessor.
Michael D. Beebe was appointed president of the North American consulting group at Computer Sciences Corp. in El Segundo. He will oversee the group's consulting and systems integration services. Beebe was previously president of the firm's chemical and energy group.
Dean A. Scarborough was named president and chief operating officer at Avery Dennison Corp. in Pasadena. He will oversee daily operations. Scarborough was most recently group vice president for Fasson Roll Worldwide, the company's pressure-sensitive materials business.
Minos Athanassiadis was named vice president at Agribuys.com, a Torrance e-commerce company that connects food buyers and sellers online. He will be in charge of global produce. Athanassiadis was most recently president of Underwood Ranches.
Roy Gattinella, Brad Duea, and Steve Martin were appointed vice presidents at PeopleSupport, a Los Angeles company that provides e-businesses with outsourced customer service. Gattinella will be responsible for marketing, communications and product management programs. He was formerly vice president of sales and marketing at EMI-Capitol Music Group. Duea will oversee business development, mergers and acquisitions, and partner relationships. He was previously a corporate attorney with O'Melveny & Myers. Martin will be responsible for sales operations in all regional offices.
Morris Sim was named head of digital programming at Digital Entertainment Network in Santa Monica. He will oversee creative content design, development, production and integration of site offerings with international content providers. Sim was previously a program manager with Microsoft.
Bruce Tobey was appointed vice president general counsel at Broadband Sports, a Los Angeles-based content provider for online sports communities. He will be responsible for legal matters. Tobey was most recently a name partner at Troop Steuber Pasich Reddick & Tobey in Los Angeles.
Russell Harrison was appointed vice president of client relations at Lee Hecht Harrison in Los Angeles. He will be responsible for developing and maintaining corporate client relationships, conducting training seminars and developing career search strategies. Harrison was previously vice president of marketing at Skyway Freight Systems.
John M. DeMarco was named senior vice president of Lowe Enterprises in Los Angeles. He will continue to be responsible for the company's legal affairs and serve as corporate counsel.
John F. Theuer was promoted to chief financial officer at Panda Management Co., the parent company of the Panda Express restaurant chain in South Pasadena. Theuer was previously vice president of finance and controller for the firm. Also, David Landsberg was promoted to vice president of business planning. He will be responsible for strategic planning, operations analysis and acquisitions. Landsberg was most recently director of business planning.
