Michael Hogan has been hired as senior vice president and managing director of the new West Coast service office for Rapp Collins, a marketing services firm. Hogan is based in Long Beach and oversees the company's growth for existing accounts and is responsible for new business development efforts in the Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego markets. Most recently, he was senior vice president and group director for Young & Rubicam's marketing subsidiary, Impiric, in Irvine.

Christine La Monte is heading up the new Los Angeles office of FitzGerald Communications as executive vice president and general manager. Based in Santa Monica, La Monte will oversee the expansion of the agency into the Southern California area. Previously, she served as executive vice president of the motion picture group at Rogers & Cowan.

J.P. Shuerman has been appointed general manager of Faiola Davis Public Relations, a technology-oriented public relations firm in Beverly Hills. In his new role, Schuerman will manage day-to-day operations of the Beverly Hills office and help head the agency's strategic division. He was most recently vice president of marketing communications for CollegeBroadcast.


Keith J. Fuchigami has been promoted to associate vice president at Cannon Design, an architecture and design firm in Los Angeles. He is a member of the firm's sports and recreation practice and deals with activities ranging from planning and design to scheduling, budget control and construction administration. Marion LaRue has been promoted to associate vice president at Cannon. She has been with the firm since 1988 and is currently involved in designing a $34 million student activities and recreation center at UC Davis.

Banking & Finance

Duane S. Keene, Cindy Duffin, Martha Arnold and Louis Buitron Jr. have all been appointed to new positions at Citizens Business Bank. Keene will be based in Covina and will be vice president of the bank's sales and service division. Duffin is working out of the Pasadena office as vice president and asset management officer of the asset management division. Arnold is vice president and real estate officer in the bank's corporate office in Ontario. Buitron, who is located in the San Gabriel office, will be a vice president and banking officer.

William Strickley has been named senior vice president and head of Sanwa Bank's Los Angeles commercial banking center. The banking center provides loans and banking services to corporate customers in the central and western areas of Los Angeles. Most recently, Strickley was vice president of finance for Internet Ventures Inc.


Barbara Bloom is the new vice president of television development and production at Landscape Entertainment in Los Angeles. She will be helping develop the television division as well as the company's feature and Internet units. Bloom comes from Sally Field's Fogwood films, where she was vice president of television development and production.


Philip Nelson Lee has joined the Los Angeles office of Fulbright & Jaworski LLP. He will continue his public finance practice as a member of Fulbright's public finance and administrative law group. Lee was formerly a partner in Jones Hall Hill & White, a professional law corporation.

Helene Pretsky will be spearheading the new corporate law unit of the Hecker Law Group in Los Angeles. The new unit will oversee private placements, public offerings, mergers and acquisitions and preferred stock financings. Formerly, she was with Kinsella, Boesch, Fujikawa & Towle.

Rochelle B. Spandorf has joined Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal in its Los Angeles office. She will practice in the firm's competition, distribution and marketing group, focusing on all aspects of business franchise counseling. Most recently she was with Foley & Lardner, where she was a partner with the firm's business department, production distribution and franchise practice group.


Dave Olbrich has been named director of U.S. publishing at the Humanoids Group. He will oversee the sales, marketing, production and publishing of the growing line of comics and graphic albums from Humanoids Publishing. Most recently, Olbrich was operating his own company, Dogg Works.

New Media

Tina Deranja has been named vice president of the newly created strategic marketing division at Digital Boardwalk, a Santa Monica-based Internet solutions company. She will head the division, which will deliver marketing strategy, planning and implementation services for companies extending their businesses to the Web.

Rick Jorgenson has joined Lassoo Interactive, a San Francisco-based online marketing service, as vice president of client services in the firm's Los Angeles office. He will be responsible for overseeing client relations and programs as well as building and managing a B2B account team. Before joining Lassoo, Jorgenson served as director of the eMarketing department for the Young Co.

Mal Ransom has been named executive vice president of sales and business development at US, which provides Internet-based information and risk management services. In his new position, Ransom will help the company expand its product and service offerings to the business market. He was chief operating officer of a Taiwan-backed Internet appliance manufacturing company before accepting his new position.

Peter Sherman and Richard Lewis have been added to the executive team of Tonos Entertainment Inc., a new-media company in Los Angeles. Sherman will be vice president of business development and services focusing on entertainment, media and Internet companies. Previously, he was vice president of business development for Lewis, who is now Tonos' senior vice president and chief financial officer, will be responsible for all aspects of business operations including finance, accounting, legal and business affairs, human resources and administration.

Tom Stormonth has been hired as senior vice president of the merchandising team at Fandom Inc., a Santa Monica-based operator of gaming Web sites. He joins Kelly Carpenter, who was recently promoted to vice president, merchandising. Stormonth will be responsible for coordinating the merchandising, catalog and e-commerce teams. Prior to joining Fandom, he served as executive director of Diamond Select Toys. Carpenter will direct merchandising in the retail, print catalog and e-commerce aspects of the company.

Ysette Witteveen has been appointed director of strategy at Razorfish, a global digital solutions provider in Los Angeles. She will oversee business, branding, and organizational strategy for all clients in the Los Angeles office. Previously, Witteveen was global account manager at the Monitor Group.

Real Estate

James Ewing has been appointed president and chief operating officer of Charles Dunn Cos., a real estate brokerage and management firm in Los Angeles. Ewing will oversee strategic planning and revenue/profit enhancements for the various divisions of Charles Dunn. Most recently, he was president and partner of Seeley-Ewing Partners, the real estate services arm of Seeley Co.

Lisa R. Forster has joined Coreland Carlson, a commercial real estate firm in Tustin, as director of leasing Los Angeles. She will be based in the company's West Los Angeles office. Most recently, Forster was operating her own firm, Forster & Associates, in Calabasas.
