Dan Casey was named executive vice president of sales and marketing at WorldLink in Los Angeles. He will be responsible for day-to-day sales operations. Casey was most recently vice president and general manager of Fox Sports World and Fox Sports World Espanol.

Banking & Finance

Terry Bess was promoted to executive vice president and manager of the Silicon Valley Bank’s Southern California division in Los Angeles. He will be responsible for managing daily operations, loan production and portfolio expansion at offices in Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Irvine and San Diego. Bess was most recently senior vice president and manager of the Los Angeles and Santa Barbara branches.

Browning Mank was appointed vice president and branch manager for the Glendale Investor Center of Fidelity Investments. She will oversee financial representatives and client investment strategies. Mank was previously branch manager for the center.

Construction

John R. Conaty and Matthew Rallo were elected vice presidents at Turner Construction in Los Angeles. Conaty is responsible for all sales and marketing in Southern California and Phoenix and will continue to serve as director of business development. Rallo will continue to function as controller for the company’s western region.

Steve Dubin was appointed principal of Project and Cost Management in Encino. He will be responsible for project management, new business development and client relations. Dubin was most recently vice president of Cole Martinez Curtis and Associates.

Electronics

Henry R. Mandell was appointed chief executive of Spatializer Audio Laboratories in Woodland Hills. He will continue to oversee the company’s finances and operations. Mandell was previously interim chief executive.

Engineering

Jerry King was appointed senior advisor of planning and project development at Psomas, an engineering firm in West Los Angeles. He specializes in land-use strategies and entitlements, water resource issues and natural resources permitting. King was previously a senior consultant to the Metropolitan Water District and the Regional Water Quality Board. Also, Larry Rowe was named director of water and natural resources for Southern California. He focuses on water rights and resources and public agency management. Rowe was formerly vice president of Western Water Co.

Entertainment

Randy Freer was promoted to executive vice president at Fox Sports Net in Los Angeles. He will oversee all business development and daily operations, as well as working to create new Internet and digital platform opportunities. Freer was most recently executive vice president of advertising sales. Also, Gary Ehrlich was named executive vice president of Fox Sports Enterprises. He will oversee Fox’s investments in partnerships with sports team owners and property developments near the Staples Center. Ehrlich was previously senior vice president for studio operations at Fox Studios.

Thomas E. McDonald was named chief financial officer at BRC Imagination Arts, a theme park design firm in Burbank. He will oversee all financial activities and will be involved with strategic planning and growth initiatives. McDonald was most recently chief financial officer with Dorn/SPE.

Adam Sanderson was named senior vice president of marketing at Disney/ABC Cable Networks in Burbank. He will oversee marketing activities that include consumer and trade advertising, national and local promotions, and brand management for the networks’ channels. Sanderson was most recently vice president of marketing at Disney Channel. Also, John Rood was appointed vice president of marketing. He will oversee the positioning and execution of strategic marketing plans and day-to-day management of advertising and promotions teams. Rood was previously director of promotions and branded foods for Warner Bros. Consumer Products.

Lawrence H. Szabo was promoted to senior vice president of international marketing at MGM Home Entertainment in Santa Monica. He will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies for the firm’s rental and sell-through businesses. Szabo was most recently vice president of the Asia and Pacific division and of international business administration.

Health Care

Sharon Yee was appointed medical director at Citrus Valley Cancer Center in Covina. She will be responsible for clinical leadership, business development and strategic positioning and marketing. Yee also serves as an assistant clinical professor of medicine at USC.

High Tech

Beverly W. Macy was appointed vice president of marketing at SoftAware Networks, a global server networks provider in Marina del Rey. She will be responsible for planning and executing comprehensive marketing strategies and programs. Macy was previously a marketer with Xerox’s Printing Systems Division.

Hospitality

Andreas Nieto was appointed executive chef at Century Plaza Hotel and Tower in Los Angeles. He will oversee the food and beverage and culinary departments and will be responsible for developing new menu items. Nieto was most recently executive chef at Bel Age Hotel in West Hollywood.

Law

Michael Overly was elected partner at Foley & Lardner in Los Angeles. He specializes in drafting and negotiating software licenses and new-media agreements. Overly was previously special counsel with the firm.

Tony R. Skogen was elected partner and shareholder at Littler Mendelson in Los Angeles. He focuses on all aspects of employment law and employee benefits litigation. Skogen was previously a senior associate.

Media

David A. Stark was named vice president of the global client solutions group at Turner Broadcasting System in Los Angeles. He will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing platforms for clients with the Turner Broadcasting and Time Warner properties. Stark was previously executive vice president at Time Inc.

New Media

Bobby H. Lee was named chief technology officer at mValue.com, a Culver City-based Web site that allows consumers to choose whether or not to sell their personal data to advertisers when surfing the Net. He will be responsible for all technology and information aspects of the site, including architecture, operations, development and implementation. Lee previously founded ePerson.com.

Deborah Myers was named vice president of sponsorships at Lightspan.com, the Santa Monica-based online arm of Lightspan Partnership, a maker of educational products and software. She will be responsible for creating Internet advertising opportunities. Myers was previously senior vice president of western and special programming sales at Fox Broadcasting Co.

Heidi Sinclair and Kristine Schiller were appointed senior vice presidents at drDrew.com, a portal for young adults based in Pasadena. Sinclair will oversee all marketing and was previously chief executive at BrandXMedia. Schiller will be responsible for the sales team and was most recently vice president of advertising sales at E! Entertainment.

Real Estate

James H. Kinney was appointed senior vice president and chief real estate counsel at the Macerich Co. in Santa Monica. He will be responsible for the legal aspects of the firm’s development and redevelopment projects. Kinney was previously a senior real estate partner at O’Melveny & Myers in Los Angeles.

Michael L. Streams Jr. was named vice president of acquisitions at Century Pacific Equity Corp. in Los Angeles. He will be responsible for structuring and coordinating the firm’s financing and acquisition of multi-family residential portfolios nationwide. Streams was previously an associate in the real estate group at O’Melveny & Myers in Los Angeles.

Retail

Mike Vizvary was promoted to vice president of marketing communications at Guitar Center in Agoura Hills. He will oversee advertising, promotions, public relations and corporate branding strategies. Vizvary was most recently director of advertising. Also, Edward Chan was promoted to vice president of information systems. Chan was formerly director of information systems.
