David Lusk has joined the integrated health group at Deloitte & Touche in Los Angeles as a principal. He will direct client services, quality control and strategic direction in the Pacific Northwest, California and Nevada regions. Also, Josh Leonard was appointed audit partner in the real estate services group in Los Angeles.

Jean Bellman has joined the L.A. office of DesignARC Architects in Los Angeles as senior project designer. Her design portfolio includes commercial and resort/hospitality projects. Bellman was a principal of R. Jean Bellman Architects of Los Angeles.

Engineering

Clare Look-Jaeger was promoted to associate principal at Linscott, Law & Greenspan Engineers in Pasadena. She will be responsible for managing staff, quality control and client development. Look-Jaeger has been with the company for more than 10 years.

Entertainment

John Ball was promoted to senior vice president of strategic planning and development for Walt Disney Co. in Burbank. He will be responsible for leading corporate development and acquisition activities. Ball previously was director of corporate development and acquisitions for Dames and Moore Inc.

Linda Desiante was promoted to senior vice president of contract administration for Carsey-Werner Distribution in Studio City. She will oversee licensing agreements for domestic and international syndication. Desiante was previously vice president of contract administration. Also, Laura Black has been promoted to vice president of corporate responsibility and strategic philanthropy for Carsey-Werner Co. in Studio City. Black was previously director of administrative affairs. In addition, Diann Shaw was promoted to vice president of publicity and public relations. Shaw was most recently director of publicity.

Dorian Langdon was promoted to president of HIT Entertainment USA in Beverly Hills. He is responsible for the licensing of programming in this country and Canada while overseeing local acquisitions, development and new media businesses.

Jonathan Wheeldon was appointed chief financial officer of Universal Music and Video Distribution in Universal City. He is responsible for financial matters relating to distribution in the United States. Wheeldon was most recently chief financial officer of PolyGram’s audio and film businesses in Spain. Also, Kevin Misher was promoted to president of production for Universal Pictures. He will be responsible for all feature film production. Mischer was previously co-president with Stacey Snider, who was recently promoted to co-chairman. Brian Compton has been appointed senior vice president and chief financial officer for Universal Studios Hollywood. Compton was previously director of operations of finance for Coach Leatherware. Don Skeoch was appointed senior vice president of marketing for Universal Studios Hollywood. He will be responsible for overall marketing strategy, including advertising, promotion, brand development, public relations and television production. Skeoch was most recently a senior vice president for Allied-Domecq. In addition, John Bradley was named senior vice president of integrated marketing for Universal Studios Recreation Group. He was previously vice president and lodging industry specialist for Visa USA.

Health Care

Denny Brennan was promoted to director and vice president of supply chain solutions for the health care group of Computer Sciences Corp. He will direct the global supply chain and technology offerings for clients. Brennan previously launched the firm’s health care “informatics” business unit.

John Diaz Day has been appointed director of neurological surgery at St. Vincent’s House Ear Clinic in Los Angeles. He specializes in treatment of tumors and vascular disorders. Day was most recently director of cerebrovascular and skull-base surgery at Lahey Clinic near Boston.

High Tech

Melvin Flanigan has been appointed vice president of finance and chief financial officer with Digital Theater Systems in Agoura Hills. He will be responsible for accounting, finance and reporting functions along with the strategic planning and general management processes.

Jeff Weigel was promoted to vice president of strategic accounts for Vitesse Semiconductor Corp. in Camarillo. He will be involved in developing communications equipment and assisting emerging communications companies in expanding product capability. Weigel was previously director of strategic accounts.

Law

Allen, Matkins, Leck, Gamble & Mallory in Los Angeles announced the promotion of three associates to partner. Mark Kelson specializes in corporate and securities law. Robert Lurie focuses his practice on leasing and management of office, retail, industrial and mixed-use projects. Samuel Stein specializes in employee benefit matters.

Gaye Gwynn was appointed senior vice president of client services for FMJ Adcomm in Venice. She will be responsible for supervising agency clients, key planning functions and new business development. Gwynn was most recently account group supervisor at Pacific Communications.

Andrew Miles has been named director of sales and marketing for Promax & BDA in Los Angeles. His responsibilities include developing and implementing sales and marketing programs for domestic and regional conferences. He was most recently senior account manager for film and television clients at Daily Variety. Also, Kris Crenwelge was appointed director of communications. Crenwelge was publications manager for the Houston Rockets pro basketball team.

Media

Douglas Trueblood was named director of marketing and promotion for The Hollywood Reporter in Los Angeles. His responsibilities will include events and sponsorships. Trueblood was most recently director of marketing for Universal Studios Japan.

New Media

Kenneth Murphy has been named general counsel of CarsDirect.com in Sherman Oaks. He will be responsible for overseeing state compliance efforts. Murphy was formerly a partner with Arter & Hadden. Also, Mark Miller was appointed vice president of dealer and industry relations. He will oversee development of a nationwide preferred dealer network. Miller was previously vice president and chief operating officer of Miller Automotive Group.

Doug Richter has been appointed director of online marketing for Wherehousemusic.com in Torrance. He will be responsible for creating marketing strategies and developing new business opportunities. Richter was a marketing manager for Windham Hill.

Personnel

Eva Goetz was named vice president for business development at Lincoln Training Center in South El Monte. She will focus on new business ventures and marketing strategies. Goetz is executive director of the Sunair Children’s Foundation.

Jeffrey Warren has joined Russell Reynolds Associates in Los Angeles as executive director. He specializes in recruiting for financial services clients. Warren was previously director of business development for KSL Fairways.

Real Estate

Ronald Pearson has joined Crosby, Heafey, Roach & May in Century City as partner. He specializes in trusts and estates work. He was formerly a partner with Mahoney, Coppenrath, Jaffe & Pearson.

Richard Schnell was named senior vice president of the Seeley Co. in Los Angeles. He will focus on managing and expanding the firm’s downtown office and extending coverage into Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena. Schnell was previously executive vice president of Cushman Realty Corp.

Retail

Lynn Martin was promoted to vice president of merchandising for the technology division of Guitar Center in Agoura Hills. Among other things, he will manage buying and marketing for the recording, computer and software operations. Martin was most recently executive vice president of sales and marketing.
