Erin Barr has been named account supervisor at Inter/Media Advertising in Los Angeles. He will oversee accounts and develop direct marketing and direct response TV programs. Most recently, Barr was an account manager at Hawthorne Direct.
Diane Wilson has been named MIS manager at Horizon Media's Los Angeles office. She will oversee the operation of all computer systems. Previously, Wilson worked in MIS support at Allen, Matkins, Leck, Gamble & Mallory in Los Angeles. Also, Cindy Lee has been promoted to senior broadcast buyer, and Kimberly Zohar has joined the company as a senior broadcast buyer. Lee and Zohar will buy media time among broadcast outlets. Previously Zohar worked as senior marketing manager at Media That Works.
Stephen B. Straughan has been promoted to partner at Kirkpatrick Associates Architects in Santa Monica. His responsibilities include project management, new project development and business development. Previously, Straughan was senior associate at the firm. Also, Michael O. Eserts has been promoted to senior associate. His responsibilities include project management and new project development. He previously was a project manager. In addition, Patricia Poundstone has been promoted to senior associate at the firm. Her responsibilities include company-wide project design management and new project development.
Teena A. Videriksen has joined Los Angeles-based firm Dworsky Associates as director of marketing. She will be responsible for strategic planning of the firm's marketing and business development.
Jonathan Gat has been appointed executive director of the California-Israel Chamber of Commerce. He will be responsible for developing bilateral trade between the United States and Israel, and managing the day-to-day operations of the chamber. Previously, Gat directed the Israeli Government Trade Office in Los Angeles.

Kathy Fergen has joined the Century City office of Mercantile National Bank as vice president and relationship manager of the business banking division. Her duties will include development of new client deposit and commercial loan relationships. Fergen was most recently vice president and loan officer/business development at Santa Monica Bank.
Mario Ortega has been appointed loan production officer of Redwood Commercial Funding's new Los Angeles office. He will analyze, originate and structure income property financing requests. Most recently Ortega was chief underwriter of correspondent credit at Aames Capital Corp.
Michael Provencio has been appointed vice president and general manager of the Charo Business & Finance Center in Los Angeles. He will be responsible for the center's strategic relationships and alliances with financial institutions. Provencio has held senior positions at California Federal Bank, Metro Bank and Security Pacific National Bank.
Art Resendez has been named vice president and community reinvestment officer at Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank of California. Based in its downtown office, he will be responsible for expanding the small-business lending presence of the bank in the greater Los Angeles area. Most recently, Resendez was vice president and manager of the business lending department at Sumitomo Bank of California.
Max Benavidez has assumed the post of assistant vice chancellor of university communications at UCLA. He is responsible for overseeing all internal and external communications for the campus, including the College of Letters and Science and professional schools. Benavidez was previously director of media relations at the California Institute of Technology.
Ted Lettelleir has joined Santa Monica-based MineShare as director of field services and support. He will oversee the software company's professional services and customer support departments. Most recently, Lettelleir served as a consultant at Universal Studios.
Stephen M. Rapier has been appointed director of marketing for Torrance-based Helisys Inc. His responsibilities will include directing its marketing program, including development of e-commerce, trade advertising, trade shows, database marketing and public relations. Previously, Rapier was director of marketing for Power Lift Corp.
Carol Head has been appointed vice president of marketing at Los Angeles-based BizRate.com. She will oversee the online consumer market research company's product development, marketing and promotional activities. Head was most recently senior vice president of sales at Hollywood Online.
Lisa Morita has been hired as vice president of marketing at Yipinet LLC. She will devise branding strategy at the Internet-based continuing education provider in Los Angeles. Previously, she was vice president of advertising and marketing for the Los Angeles Times. Also, Brian Feldman was appointed director of business development. He will oversee the company's entry into the health care industry. Previously, Feldman was a director at Concordia Capital.
Linda Sands Nicolai has been promoted to managing associate and director of new media at Brad Marks International in Century City. She will lead the executive search firm's efforts in attracting and servicing its new media clients. Nicolai previously managed the operations of William E. Simon & Sons.
Klas Bergman has joined Los Angeles-based Winner & Associates as vice president. He will oversee various accounts domestically and abroad. Previously, Bergman was chief of media relations at the World Bank.
Gary Fleishman has been appointed branch manager of the Coldwell Banker Palos Verdes Melaga Cove office. His responsibilities will include overseeing the office's day-to-day real estate operations, as well as managing its sales associates. Fleishman has most recently served as assistant manager at the company's Santa Monica office.
B. Kipling Hagopian has been named chairman of Property First Marketplace Inc. in Alhambra. Hagopian will help expand Property First Marketplace's presence as a commercial real estate site on the Internet. In 1996, he co-founded Apple Oaks Partners, a private investment company.
D. James Messinger and his son, Erik J. Messinger, have joined the investment properties division of Grubb & Ellis Co.'s San Gabriel Valley office. D. James Messinger joins as senior vice president. Erik Messinger joins as senior associate. They will work as a team focusing on investment properties in the San Gabriel Valley and the Inland Empire. Both came from CB Richard Ellis, where they were investment specialists.
Marty Shelton has joined Capital Commercial/NAI's West Los Angeles office as vice president, specializing in investment sales. Shelton was previously with CB Richard Ellis' investment properties group.
Scott Schuster has been appointed first vice president of the Los Angeles office of Blatteis Realty Co., located in Los Angeles. He will handle new client acquisition and assist already-established clients expand their presence regionally and nationally. Schuster was previously an associate with Bernstein Real Estate in New York.
Sergio del Prado has been named general manager of the Pasadena-based soccer club, the Los Angeles Galaxy. He will be responsible for overall business operations, focusing on marketing and sponsorship of the club. Del Prado was previously director of marketing and corporate sales for the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League.
Robert S. Hartman has been promoted to director of marketing at Santa Anita Park. Hartman has been working in the track's marketing department since 1995. Previously, he was marketing coordinator for the New York Racing Association. Also, Chris Esslinger has been named public relations manager for the track. He coordinates production of materials provided for the media. Since 1998, he has been responsible for the day-to-day operation of the press box and broadcast/media relations.
