Joseph Ruszkiewicz, recently named chief operating officer and executive vice president of Santa Monica-based iMall, brings a managerial background to the still-fledgling provider of e-commerce services on the Internet.

Ruszkiewicz was formerly vice president of product management at Internet service provider AT & T; WorldNet Service, where he was instrumental in a partnership with Microsoft under which WorldNet was bundled into Windows 95 and Windows 98.

As iMall’s chief operating officer, Ruszkiewicz is responsible for day-to-day operations. “Really, the bottom line in doing business is achieving business results, and I know how to do that,” he said.

Ruszkiewicz says one of his main strengths is the ability to prioritize key projects in order to meet and exceed company goals.

Ruszkiewicz joined AT & T; in 1982 after earning his MBA at the University of Delaware. He spent 10 years at the telephone giant before moving to NCR Corp., where he was area vice president of international marketing. He returned to AT & T; and remained there until iMall came calling.

Ruszkiewicz said he is determined to help make iMall the best run and most valued provider of e-commerce business on the Internet.

“If I deliver extra value to a business, they will be able to provide extra value to their customers, and that is really the key thing, to deliver the best value that we possibly can,” Ruszkiewicz said.
