Daniel H. Farkas has been appointed director of clinical diagnostics at Pasadena-based Clinical Micro Sensors Inc. Farkas will spearhead development of all clinical diagnostics applications for the company's DNA biochip sensors. He previously served as founder and co-director of the Molecular Probe Laboratory at William Beaumont Hospital.
Luther Cochrane has been appointed to the new post of chief executive of Los Angeles-based Bovis Construction Group. He is currently president and chief executive of Bovis Inc.
Ann Thompson has been appointed professional development manager at the Los Angeles office of Keane Inc. She will be responsible for providing feedback to Keane consultants to assist them in their professional growth. Thompson previously was an instructional design consultant for Principal Technical Services.
Pamela Baron has joined Los Angeles-based Brillstein-Grey Entertainment as vice president of business affairs. Baron previously served as a business affairs consultant at Twentieth Century Fox Television.
Dexter Fedor has been named vice president of global brand development for Burbank-based Disney consumer products. Fedor will be responsible for developing and executing a new worldwide brand model and advertising program for Disney consumer products. He will also oversee the production of style guides for Disney's film and television properties. Fedor previously was vice president and creative director at Hal Riney & Partners.
Jerry Giaquinta has been named senior vice president of corporate communications for Culver City-based Sony Pictures Entertainment. Giaquinta was formerly vice president of corporate marketing for Silicon Graphics.
Jeff Hall has joined Paramount Pictures as vice president of market research. He will be responsible for formulating and overseeing market research for the motion picture group. Previously, Hall served as director of market research for feature films at Warner Bros.
Wendy Mills has been promoted to vice president and controller, domestic television for the Columbia TriStar Television Group. Mills, who will be based in Culver City, will be responsible for financial and business support for Columbia TriStar Television Group's domestic TV businesses. Previously, Mills was assistant controller of domestic television.
Denise Monden has been promoted to the newly created position of vice president of worldwide marketing finance for Universal Pictures. Monden, who will be based in Universal City, will provide financial support for both the domestic and international motion picture marketing department, as well as the domestic home video marketing department. She formerly was a corporate internal auditor.
