L.A. Architecture

Your special section on “Future Development: 21st Century L.A.” (Oct. 19) was informative and thought provoking.

Since I have devoted most of my architectural career to creating livable urban environments, I was particularly pleased with your panel’s observations on the importance of places where people can live, work and play. It was most gratifying that a number of projects designed by our firm were cited as models for L.A.’s future, including the Janss Court in Santa Monica and Wilshire Borgata at Wilshire and Wellesley in West Los Angeles, both of which are urban residential and retail mixed-use.
