Robert Forrest

TrizecHahn Office Properties Inc.

Age: 46

Specialty: Managing and leasing of office buildings.

Recent Deal: Acquiring the Citicorp Center office highrise and adjacent Seventh Market Place shopping center.

The name TrizecHahn Corp. been popping up all over town lately. Its acquisition of Citicorp Plaza in downtown L.A. one of the largest local real estate transactions in 10 years gives the firm a major presence in downtown.

The firm is also pursuing a $145 million entertainment project adjacent to the Mann’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood, and a $100 million retail project in Long Beach.

As senior vice president of the office properties group, Forrest oversees all of that group’s operations for the Western U.S. region. In the future, acquisitions will be at the top of Forrest’s “to do” list.

The Los Angeles portfolio consists of nine company-owned buildings with a total of 3 million square feet, including the twin Marina Towers in Marina del Rey, the Herbalife building in Inglewood and the Pinkerton headquarters in Encino.

Forrest, a 20-year veteran of TrizecHahn, attributes his success to a good management staff. “I have been fortunate to attract and retain a senior management group that has been with me for 10 to 15 years. That’s a big reason for our success,” he said.

When he is able to break away from putting together deals, Forrest can be found on the greens at Woodland Hills Country Club. Forrest, who has an eight handicap, has golfed at courses throughout the United States and Canada. As one might surmise, his vacations are focused primarily on golf.
