Business Training for Youth

I just want to echo the sentiments expressed by Robert Arias (Letters, July 28). I am a beneficiary of the kind of program of which Mr. Arias speaks so eloquently. As a youth, growing up in South Central, my program allowed me to work each day after school for a $30 stipend while gaining an insight into the world of retail business.

Today, I manage a community development financial institution that provides capital to retail businesses in South Central L.A. that create the jobs our young people so desperately need.
