AEG Facilities, a stand-alone division of AEG, has agreed to a multi-year deal with the Buenos Aires Arena to manage and operate the facility. The 16,000-seat arena is controlled by Argentinian media outfit, La Nación, and is set to open their doors in mid-2019.
Through the deal, AEG Facilities will be tasked with overseeing all aspects of the arena’s operations starting with the hiring and training for the venue’s full-time staff along with organizing the facility’s grand opening. In addition, AEG Facilities will deal with securing sponsorships and ticket sales as well as the handling the overall management of the arena.
“Buenos Aires is one of the leading entertainment and sport markets in the world and now it will be serviced by a world-class venue,” said Chuck Steedman, chief operating officer of AEG Facilities, in a statement. “We look forward to working with Buenos Aires Arena and the entire Buenos Aires community to provide the most popular and highest levels of international, regional and local sports and entertainment to this beautiful new arena.”
The Buenos Aires Arena is the second South American-based arena that AEG Facilities has added to their portfolio, having recently agreed to manage Urugauy’s Antel Arena, which is slated to open later this year. Operations for the Argentinian-based project will be held from AEG’s regional headquarters in São Paulo, Brazil, headed by Venancio Castro, executive director of AEG LATAM.
