Co-Founder, Co-Chief Executive
Scopely
Walter Driver has helped lead Scopely into being one of the largest mobile gaming companies in the world. The Culver City-based company, maker of “Monopoly Go!”, made a $3.5 billion purchase of Niantic’s gaming division. The move, the second largest gaming acquisition at the time, put titles like “Pokémon Go” under Scopely’s masthead. As Scopely grows, it is interested in designing, developing and sustaining games that are intended to foster bigger communities, live events, and dedicated players that come back over and over again. In an interview with the Los Angeles Business Journal, Driver said, “I think a lot of media businesses historically have been driven by the launch of new content, and this business is driven by the creation of enduring communities.”
