SmartGate VC, Hero House
Through SmartGateVC, Galstyan has one foot in her home country – Armenia, where she was born and grew up – and her current home in Los Angeles. SmartGateVC, which has dual headquarters in both countries, has collected more than 30 portfolio companies in data analytics, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity since its inception in 2017. Galstyan is a founding member of Hero House, a tech hub based in Glendale that acts as an office for immigrant founders and early-stage startups. Through Hero House, Galstyan facilitates the GateWay acceleration program that allows startups, universities and local businesses to network, collaborate and join forces on projects. SmartGateVC works in the deeptech space, but many of its startups are in the pre-seed stage.
