Kitchell is pleased to announce the appointment of Wendy Cohen as President and CEO of the Kitchell Corporation, one of the largest employee owned commercial building companies in the Southwest. Wendy is only the fifth CEO in the company’s 73-year history and the first woman in the role.
Cohen has been with Kitchell for 10 years. She was initially tapped to grow the company’s presence in Southern California and eventually expanded her role to leadership of Kitchell’s construction management company, serving as President of Sacramento-based Kitchell CEM since 2020. Her experience leading high-performance teams helped grow Kitchell’s presence throughout the Southwest, including large building programs on behalf of UC San Diego, MiraCosta Community College District and the Los Angeles County’s Department of Public Works.
In her new role, Cohen will oversee Kitchell’s four operating companies: Kitchell Contractors Inc., Kitchell Development Company, Kitchell CEM and American Refrigeration Supplies. With primary offices in Arizona, California and Texas, Kitchell’s footprint spans 14 states and is comprised of more than 1,100 employee-owners. The company is consistently ranked nationally among the top commercial contractors, CM for fee and PM firms. The company’s other key clients in Los Angeles County include the the Los Angeles Community College District, Pasadena City College, Santa Monica Malibu Unified School District, Keck Medicine of USC, Los Angeles Unified School District and Long Beach Unified School District.
