Ringo H.W. Chiu has been a staff photographer of Los Angeles Business Journal since September 2003. He has been a professional photographer for 20 years. He was born in mainland China and raised in Hong Kong and worked for Hong Kong Express, Hong Kong Sing Tao Daily and Evening Post on various major assignments such as Eastern China flooding, Sino-British meetings in Beijing, amnesty for Chinese illegal immigrants in Macau, Hong Kong Handover 1997. He has been a freelance photographer for Los Angeles Times, Associated Press and Getty Images since he was in United States. In 2001, he drove straight to New York City to cover the 911 attacks.
He has earned recognition and respect in the photography field. His works have been published in the world and have received numerous honors such as Canada's Photojournalism Photography Award Winner in Applied Arts Magazine Annual Contest 2007, Press Photographer Association of Greater Los Angeles's Picture of the Year in 2002, 2005 and 2006, The Best Hong Kong News Photography in 1992, 1993 and 1994.
