the high speed rail to vegas makes more sense. The one to Nor Cal doesn't. I thought our state was cash strapped? Also I am tired of being taxed to death. The new gas tax is another one we are all going to start paying.
Also has anyone considered that the future of transportation is currently being transformed by Elon Musk? By the time the huge long high speed rail up north is actually complete, the technology to transport people through his new methods may be already happening, and the high speed rail could be archaic when it first debuts.

This was new technology 50 years ago, and will be obsolete before the proposed system is done.
Improved water distribution is where we should spend our money. Water benefits everyone, while high speed rail will not end congestion and will be used by less than 10% of the people.
If they think this is such a good idea they should build the segment between Sacramento and San Francisco first.
