THE LATEST: Kuba's real estate development firm CIM Group, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, has $30 billion in assets and has completed $60 billion of projects since it was founded in 1994. CIM's holdings include Hollywood & Highland, the shopping and entertainment venue that houses the Dolby Theater, home to the Academy Awards. The nearly 500,000-square-foot property, which CIM owns through a joint venture with Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, is reportedly on the market.

BACKGROUND: Kuba co-founded CIM with Avi Shemesh and Richard Ressler. The company has redeveloped iconic L.A. areas such as Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica and Old Town Pasadena. CIM employs nearly 1,000 people and develops projects across the country. Kuba previously co-founded Dekel Development, which developed commercial and multifamily properties in Los Angeles.

WORTH NOTING: Kuba is on CIM's Investment and Real Asset Management Committees and oversees the firm's development team.
