CHANDRA SUBRAMANIAM

Chandra Subramaniam is dean of the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics at Cal State Northridge. He came to the university in March from the University of Texas at Arlington, where he held several executive positions, including interim dean and chair of the department of accounting. Subramaniam holds an undergraduate degree in physics from the University of Malaya in Malaysia, a bachelor’s degree in accounting, an MBA from the University of Minnesota Duluth and a PhD in accounting from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Subramaniam spent several years as an engineer for National Semiconductor in Malaysia and as director of the Small Business Development Center and Small Business Institute in northeastern Minnesota. He has been on the boards of the Fort Worth chapter of the Texas Society of CPAs and Financial Executives International. He was awarded the 2015 Meritorious Service in Accounting Career Education by the Fort Worth chapter of the TSCPA.

What was your proudest moment?

I am most proud at commencement every year when I see graduates walking across the stage with their diplomas and waving to their families. It is a joy to witness their success and accomplishment knowing the impact that their business degree will have on themselves and their families.
