A regular among preeminent industry outlets Variety and The Hollywood Reporter’s top lawyers and dealmakers, Akin Gump entertainment and media partner Alissa Miller is a recognized leader in her field who has handled some of the industry’s highest-visibility deals between independent movie production companies and financial institutions. She is best known for her work with major financiers for film, network television, streaming services and joint ventures. This past year she helped secure financing for projects for A24, Netflix and ABC Television, to name a few. She also worked on co-financing for Byron Allen’s Entertainment Studios, Inc. Beyond her fee-based work, Miller maintains an active pro bono practice, advising several organizations and nonprofits. This includes playing a key role on the team helping the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum to secure trademark clearances for multiple related media pieces, including historical film footage and photography for the exhibit “Americans and the Holocaust.”
