Steve Needleman is the owner of downtown’s Anjac Properties, the real estate portfolio started by his father, the late Jack Needleman. The elder Needleman was a garment manufacturer who, with his wife, Annette, began buying buildings and parking lots downtown. The Anjac Fashion Buildings company remains family owned, and today has more than 800 tenants in properties in the downtown historic core and L.A. Fashion District. The company’s CAST Real Estate Holdings and Kids from the Valley entities also own and operate industrial, office and retail centers across Los Angeles County. The company also owns the historic Orpheum Theatre, the 1926 vaudeville and movie theater. Steve Needleman supervised a $3.5 million renovation of the space in 2001. Today the venue hosts live concerts and other events, as well as serves as a filming venue.
