MONISHA A. COELHO: CKR Law LLP – Partner

Monisha Coelho is a Partner at the CKR Law LLP, handling a wide variety of business law and real estate matters. Since she is licensed to practice law in India, she also heads the firm’s India US Practice, advising clients in the US and/or India seeking to start businesses and undertake cross-border investments between the US and India.

Herself an immigrant, Coelho moved to the US after practicing law in India. She successfully navigated the vast cultural, societal and professional differences between her native India and the US, and over the years, has made a successful legal career for herself against all odds. Coelho recently published a book entitled, “Fundamentals of an American Lawsuit,” which offers a step-by-step explanation of how a lawsuit is litigated in American courts, from case initiation to trial/settlement. The book is helpful to both domestic and international business owners and foreign lawyers seeking to understand the American legal system.

LORRAINE D’ALESSIO: D’Alessio Law Group – Managing Partner

Founding partner of D’Alessio Law Group, Lorraine D’Alessio was named the 2016 Los Angeles Century City Bar Association’s Lawyer of the Year. A former Ford model and actress turned legal powerhouse, D’Alessio is a multi-award-winning, immigration expert. She serves on the board for Artists for Change and is the author of “Going Global: Investing in U.S. Immigration,” a guide to U.S. immigration.

D’Alessio has provided counsel to hundreds of prominent and award-winning entertainment agencies, unions, private companies and academic institutions including: Next Models, Food Network, SubPac, Pepperdine University, ACTRA, and New York Film Academy. In addition to these clients, she has worked on highly successful refugee and deportation cases earning awards for her work with immigrant communities across Los Angeles. She founded D’Alessio Law Group on the premise of providing high quality legal representation with a focus on excellent client service and individualized attention.

MIKE MARGOLIS: Blank Rome LLP – Partner

Mike Margolis heads up Blank Rome’s team serving Chinese businesses and entrepreneurs operating in the U.S. For more than 13 years, a large part of Margolis’ work in the U.S. has focused on advising and representing companies and business owners from the Greater China area. Margolis has more than 30 years of experience representing clients in a variety of disputes, including: real estate; lender liability; trade secrets, unfair competition, and misappropriation of intellectual property; fraud; international joint ventures; sexual harassment and employment discrimination; and class actions and other complex commercial cases.

Margolis also counsels businesses and business owners on a wide range of international and domestic issues, using law and strategy to help achieve a client’s business plan while minimizing potential liabilities. International and domestic media often turn to Mr. Margolis for insight into Chinese investment trends and the special challenges facing Chinese companies doing business in the U.S.

SUSAN KOHN ROSS: Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP – Partner

Susan Kohn Ross is a partner at Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp (MSK) where she chairs the International Trade Practice Group. Ross has practiced for more than 30 years in the areas of customs, international trade, transportation, food and drug, homeland security, product safety and import/ export law. She has worked closely with all governmental agencies involved in international trade, including the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Departments of Commerce and State, Food & Drug Administration, International Trade Commission, and U.S. Trade Representative.

Ross regularly represents domestic and foreign clients in state and federal court and before the U.S. Court of International Trade, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and other governmental agencies that regulate and influence international commerce. Ross is also a prolific writer and frequent speaker on trade issues, and plays an active role in many bar and trade associations.
