With 19 years of technology investment experience, Jim Armstrong has generated multiple large exits through IPOs or mergers and acquisitions from companies he either incubated or where he participated as the first institutional investor. He had been at Clearstone Venture Partners since 1998. He worked with incubator Idealab in the late 1990s and started his career at Austin Ventures in 1995. Armstrong led Clearstone’s investments in SupplyFrame, Vast, LeisureLink, and UserTesting, and is on the board of two incubators – the Hive (big data) and the Fabric (cloud networking). He holds a BA in economics from UCLA and an MBA from the McCombs School at the University of Texas at Austin.
