Lloyd Greif has more than 35 years of investment banking experience, having been vice chairman and managing director of Sutro & Co. prior to founding Greif & Co. in 1992. Previously, he was a management consultant with Touche Ross & Co. (Deloitte Consulting). He holds a BA in economics from UCLA, an MBA from USC, and a JD from Loyola Law School. Greif is a member of the State Bar of California, the board of the California Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the advisory council of USC’s Lloyd Greif Center for Entrepreneurial Studies, and past chairman of both the Los Angeles Economic Development Corp. and Los Angeles Police Foundation.

Industry specialization: Consumer products and retail, industrial manufacturing and distribution, technology, food and beverage, health care, media and entertainment, and aerospace/defense.

Deal value range: $20 million to $2 billion.

Recent transactions: The $1.3 billion sale of C.R. Laurence Co., a manufacturer and distributor of architectural hardware, equipment, tools, and supplies for the glass and glazing industry, to Ireland’s CRH, a building products company. Growth capital financing and sale of Dacor, manufacturer and marketer of upscale kitchen appliances, to South Korea’s Samsung Electronics. Acquisition financing and sale of Gaiam Vivendi Entertainment, a digital and physical distributor of movies and TV shows, to content distributor Cinedigm. Sale of a minority interest in DeMenno-Kerdoon, a recycler of used oil, to World Oil Co., a refiner and distributor of petroleum products. Sale of Senn Delaney Leadership Consulting Group, a corporate culture consulting firm, to Heidrick & Struggles International, an executive search firm. Sale of Monte Nido & Affiliates, a health care company specializing in treating eating disorders, to private equity firm Centre Partners.
