Prior to co-founding Freeman Spogli in 1983, Freeman was managing director of Dean Witter Reynolds Inc.’s L.A. corporate finance department and a member of its board. In addition, he was responsible for Dean Witter’s international corporate finance activities, headquartered in London, from 1975 to 1976. He earned a bachelor’s degree with distinction from Stanford University in 1964 and a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard University in 1966.
