Real Office Centers, co-working tenants evicted from Santa Monica office, Snapchat launches custom group stories, and Pepsi to label millions of cans with Snapchat codes.
Real Office Centers and its co-working tenants received notice of eviction on Monday from the Santa Monica building’s landlord, Hudson Pacific, who said the business failed to pay rent in April and May, according to correspondence obtained by the Business Journal. The eviction of Newport Beach-based Real Office Centers from 604 Arizona Ave. came without advanced notice, the company said in an email to its tenants. Hudson Pacific disputes that characterization, noting that the co-working business knew of payment issues for months.
Snapchat launched custom Stories, a new form of their story feature that allows users to create global and location-based stories with friends, reports The Verge. Users can contribute content to unlimited custom Stories, but can only create three custom Stories at a given time.
Pepsi is working with Snapchat to promote its limited-edition cinnamon-flavored Pepsi Fire, stamping millions of soda cans and bottles across the country with Snapcodes over the next eight weeks, reports DigiDay. Users can use the 2-D barcodes that the Snapchat mobile app can read using a smartphone camera to unlock exclusive branded geofilters, sponsored lenses with floating 3-D objects, and a mobile game within the app.
