A Hollywood car dealership owned by the same family since the 1960s has been sold for an undisclosed amount to a buyer in San Jose, according to Irvine-based auto sales advisory firm Kerrigan Advisors.

Patricia, Don and Bill Robertson sold their Honda of Hollywood dealership to Bakhtiari Auto Group, Kerrigan announced last week. Kerrigan advised the family on the deal.

“It’s been a privilege to serve the people of Southern California for close to 60 years,” Don Robertson said in a statement. “We’ve seen generations of families come and go at our dealership on Santa Monica Boulevard, so we take our connection to the community seriously.”

Bakhtiari owns seven other California dealerships, including Huntington Beach Ford, Anaheim Mitsubishi, and Puente Hills Mitsubishi and Subaru in City of Industry, according to the company’s website.

Registrations of new retail car and light trucks in L.A. County decreased 2.9 percent to about 218,000 this year through May from 225,000 over the same time period last year, according to data from the Greater Los Angeles New Car Dealers Association.

Sales of new Honda Civics, Accords and CRVs rose to about 12 percent of the total sales of new vehicles in the county in the first five months of 2017, up from about 11.5 percent in the year-earlier period, the association said.
