The Wall Street Journal reports that a group of large Asian and European cargo shippers will announce an alliance Friday. The pact, which will allow the companies to share space on vessels, includes Hanjin Shipping Co. and Hapag-Lloyd and comes amid a 30 percent oversupply of ships, which has put downward pressure on pricing.
