Timely Snowstorms Save Local Ski Industry

Well-timed snow storms blanketing California peaks have boosted business at the state’s ski resorts. Lift ticket sales at some resorts have increased as much as 50 percent compared with the last few years, the Los Angeles Times reports. Mountain High, north east of Los Angeles, closed late last month because its snow melted but hopes to reopen if more snow falls.
