Virtual Reality Society Launched

The Advanced Imaging Society, a non-profit that promotes high-quality filming formats, has launched the Virtual Reality Society as a division within itself, according to a press release. The Virtual Reality Society will provide research, seminars, and best-practice recommendations to help facilitate the creation of high-quality virtual reality content.

Fullscreen Hires Vevo’s Scott Reich

Fullscreen of Culver City has hired Scott Reich, formerly head of programming and original content at Vevo, as senior vice president of programming, reports Variety. The company is looking to ramp up content for its recently launched subscription video-on-demand service, named Fullscreen, which costs $5 a month.

Online Camera Rental Startup ShareGrid Raises $1M

ShareGrid, an online marketplace where users can rent each other’s camera and production equipment, has raised a $1 million seed round, reports Venture Beat. The round was led byMHS Capital and media production company Archer Gray.
