The Television Critics Association announced at a press gathering in Pasadena Wednesday that the cast of ’90s sitcom “Friends” is reuniting for the first time since the series ended, according to MSN. They will appear in an NBC special next month celebrating the career of James Burrows, who directed many of the show’s most memorable episodes.

Burrows has taken the director’s chair for other landmark television comedies, including “Cheers,” “Taxi,” “Mary Tyler Moore,” “The Bob Newhart Show” “Laverne & Shirley,” “Frasier,” “Will & Grace” and the pilot for “The Big Bang Theory.” He recently directed an episode of NBC midseason comedy “Crowded,” marking his 1,000th on network television
