The Wounded Warrior Project, a nonprofit veteran’s service organization, has opened a Los Angeles office for wounded military veterans in Southern California.

“We want to reach the most injured veterans, in the most communities possible,” said Steve Nardizzi, chief executive of the Wounded Warrior Project, in a statement. “Los Angeles provides new opportunities for us as an organization to serve tens of thousands of wounded service members who face unique challenges daily.”

The Los Angeles location is the group’s 22nd nationwide office, joining San Diego and Sacramento offices in California.

Last June, the Wounded Warrior Project made a $100 million investment with four medical centers across the country, including UCLA, to improve mental health care for veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries.
