Rapper Drake might have another hit on his hands – but this time not of the musical variety.

The artist, who also goes by the nickname “Champagne Papi,” is ramping up for the launch of Virginia Black Whiskey. The beverage line has already generated some bling to the tune of $1.6 million in seed funds, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Vibe.com has speculated that the whiskey’s rollout will be timed to the “Hotline Bling” rapper’s forthcoming April album release.

Virginia Black Whiskey, which will be marketed as a luxury spirit, will allow Drake, who owns a home in Calabasas, to join fellow hip-hop artists Sean “Diddy” Combs, 50 Cent and Jay-Z as alcohol proprietors.

Drake’s business partner in the venture is Brent Hocking, founder of DeLeón Tequila of West Hollywood.
