Pop-Up Park in the Middle of DTLA Street?

In an effort to bring more green space to Downtown L.A.’s concrete jungle, the South Park Business Improvement District is working on plans to create a temporary park in the median of Hope Street. The Downtown News reported Monday that the park would be open April 4 to May 31, and traffic would flow by on each side of the public space.

If feedback to the half-block attraction is positive and the pilot is deemed a success, it could lead to a permanent park. The BID leaders, however, caution that details are still being worked out, and input is being sought from neighbors and officials from various city departments that would have to sign off on the project.
