Promoters Planning Ultimate Concert

You can’t always get what you want, but if you’re a local classic rock enthusiast then you might just come close.

Hollywood concert promoter Goldenvoice is putting together the ultimate concert at which the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters, and the Who will share the bill for the same time.

Negotiations are at an advanced stage for the iconic acts to perform at a three-day festival in the Southern California desert this October in Indio, according to a Los Angeles Times report.

That’s the same venue where Goldenvoice’s Coachella music festival is being held this weekend.

The rock and roll heavyweights on the October bill were credited with the transformation of popular music in the 1960’s and 70’s and have remained relevant on the music scene by releasing albums and singles in the recent past. As such, their audience demographic is huge. For concert organizers, this is good news.

Despite music downloads having strained music sales, the concert business in California is booming with the Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival alone bringing in a reported $84 million for Goldenvoice last year.
