Triton Digital will provide its audience measurement service to the streaming audio content of national broadcaster iHeartMedia Inc., the companies announced Thursday.

Triton is a Sherman Oaks technology services company that caters to the radio industry. Its Webcast Metrics Local system tracks shows’ audiences by measuring actual listeners and providing data to agencies and advertisers to evaluate audiences within specific markets.

San Antonio’s iHeartMedia, which was previously known as Clear Channel Communications Inc., is the largest radio broadcaster in the United States with about 850 radio stations. Its Los Angeles-area stations are based in Burbank.

“The addition of this pre-eminent media company’s streaming audiences to Webcast Metrics Local reports will give media planners and buyers better insight into the rapidly growing online audio audience,” said Rob Favre, general manager of measurement and analytics at Triton Digital.
