Party Price Neither Trick Nor Treat

The scariest thing about an upcoming Halloween party aimed at young L.A. business professionals might be the price.

Tickets to an Oct. 24 bash thrown by Maxim magazine and Beverly event planning firm Karma International range from $1,250 each to more than $15,000 for VIP admission.

Karma is billing the soiree, which will be held on a private estate in Beverly Hills, as “the most exclusive Halloween party in the world.”

Chart-topping singer Nick Jonas will headline the event, which will also feature a haunted house, creepy graveyards, 80 costumed “scare performers,” leading DJs and open bars. Private tables and cabanas cost extra, of course.

“It’s an extremely exclusive event for a jet-setter crowd with top-notch production values and A-list talent, all of which contributes to the cost of admission,” said Eric Stotz, president of Karma.

Membership to the organization is by invitation and costs $3,000 a year. Event tickets must be purchased separately. Between 600 and 1,000 guests have attended the Halloween party in recent years.

Karma and Maxim are also partnering with concierge firms and event promoters to pull in wealthy young entrepreneurs and influencers to the event. Organizers declined to reveal any names from this year’s guest list. Celebrities are being targeted as well, but Karma does not charge them for admission if they are considered household names.
