PE Roundup: Private Equity Deals Announced This Week

West L.A. private equity firm Brentwood Associates announced Tuesday that it had acquired Excelligence Learning Corp. in Monterey, which manufactures and sells children’s educational products such as arts and crafts sets to schools and parents. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Anatrace, a portfolio company of Century City private equity firm StoneCalibre, announced Tuesdaythat it had acquired Microlytic, a Burlington, Mass., manufacturer of lab tools designed for the life-sciences industry. Anatrace, headquartered in Maumee, Ohio, makes high-purity detergents and other products used in research studies. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Platinum Equity, a Beverly Hills private equity firm headed by billionaire Tom Gores, announced Wednesday that it signed an agreement to acquire print roller manufacturer Ten Cate Enbi from Dutch firm Royal Ten Cate. The deal is expected to close during the first half of this year. Terms were not disclosed.
