The Dow Jones industrial average rose 242 points in Monday trading to close at 17,615.

The S&P 500 rose 27 points to 2,104.

The Nasdaq rose 58 points to 5,102.

The LABJ Stock Index rose one point to 240.

Gainers and Losers

One of Monday’s biggest local gainers was Radnet Inc. Shares of the Los Angeles operator of medical imaging centers rose 10 percent on the day, closing at $7.60 after the company reported better-than-expected second quarter revenue.

Monday’s biggest loser was cardiovascular therapy developer Capricor Inc. UIts shares fell 5 percent on the day, closing at $4.41.
