Shot in Arm: West L.A.’s California Cryobank Stem Cell Services, a provider of cord blood and tissue services that does business as FamilyCord, has purchased Stamford, Conn.’s Lifeline Cryogenics, which primarily services the New York tristate area. LifeLine provides a range of storage services for eggs, sperm, embryos and cord blood cells. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

VENICE

Series A: Seriously, a mobile video-game company with offices in Venice and Helsinki, Finland, has raised $18 million in a Series A round led by Stockholm’s Northzone. Seriously, whose games include the Best Fiends series, has raised $28 million to date.

BEVERLY HILLS

Residential Acquisition: Tower Ventures has sold a Beverly Hills multifamily property for $4.7 million to investor Paul Ling. The 7,868-square-foot, 14-unit Commodore building, at 360 S. Rexford Drive, was built in 1961.

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES

Northern Exposure: CBRE Group Inc., a downtown L.A.-headquartered commercial real estate services company, has acquired Canada’s PKF Consulting Inc. PKF, which has offices in Toronto and Vancouver, specializes in the Canadian hospitality and tourism industries. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

HOLLYWOOD

Rolled Up: Midroll Media, a Hollywood podcast producer and podcast advertising network, has been acquired by Cincinnati media company E.W. Scripps. Midroll sells advertising on behalf of about 200 podcasts and produces 35 of its own podcasts, which focus on comedy and pop culture. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

WEST ADAMS

Diving In: OriginClear Inc., a West Adams maker of water cleanup technology, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire 100 percent of Dallas’ Progressive Water Treatment Inc. Under the deal, PWT will become a wholly owned subsidiary of OriginClear. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

NORTH COUNTY

VALENCIA

Industrial Pickup: Neotech Products Inc., a maker of medical technology products, has acquired a Valencia industrial property for $4.8 million from 28430 Witherspoon Parkway LLC. The 36,766-square-foot building, 28430 Witherspoon Parkway, sits on 60,548 square feet of land. The transaction was part of a 1031 exchange for Neotech, which had sold its industrial building in Santa Clarita.

PACOIMA

Multifamily Deal: A private investor has acquired a Pacoima apartment building for $17.8 million from Vista Associates. The 100-unit, 79,778-square-foot Branford Villa Apartments property, at 12711 Branford St., was built in 1987.
