The company’s sales increased 12 percent to $349 million for the quarter. Jakks Pacific attributed improved sales in part to the company finding new distribution channels in such stores as Kohl’s, GameStop and clothing retailer Justice, as well as the cable television shopping channel QVC.

Despite improved earnings, shares of Jakks Pacific were down 13 percent, closing Thursday at $6.95.
