Mandalay Digital, International Rectifier Among Week’s Biggest Movers

The Los Angeles Business Journal’s index of the area’s largest public companies rose for the week.

The weighted LABJ Stock Index went up 3 percent to close at 204. Gainers outpaced laggers by 104 to 54 with five companies unchanged.

Mandalay Digital of Los Angeles was among the week’s leading gainers. The company’s shares rose 66 percent to end the week at $5.80. The stock shot up following the company’s announcement that Verizon Communications had confirmed deployment of its mobile application-management solution, DT Ignite, across Android devices.

International Rectifier in El Segundo also had a strong week. Shares rose 54 percent to $39.10 after news that German chip maker Infineon Technologies agreed to pay $3 billion in cash for the semiconductor firm.

Enova Systems of Torrance was among the week’s losing stocks. Shares of company, which makes electric drive systems for trucks and buses, fell 36 percent to close at 3 cents. The stock price dropped after Enova reported no revenue in the first-half of the year due to a lack of demand for its products.
