Santa Monica startup airline Surf Air has announced big expansion plans, including the addition of as 15 new planes to its fleet and as many as 13 new destinations.

The tiny airline, which sells memberships for unlimited flights, last week said Friday it had raised $8 million in new funding from investors and secured a $65 million loan that it will use to buy 15 new propeller planes. Surf Air’s fleet has just three planes now.

The new planes, and the option to buy 50 more, will allow Surf Air to expand to more airports. It now serves San Carlos in the Bay Area, Santa Barbara, Burbank, Hawthorne and Truckee, near Lake Tahoe. On its website, Surf Air lists 13 potential destinations, including San Diego, Palm Springs, San Luis Obispo and Sonoma.
